My recent investigations and interest have focused on the physiological and pathological effects of altitude and altitude training. Altitude represents a significant physiological stress to humans and other animals. My studies have focused upon those adaptations that have occurred as a result of the hypoxia, cold and radiation effects of moderate altitude (7,000 - 10,000 feet).

I have also been involved in the initiating the linkage of three courses in the nursing students curriculum. These courses are medical physics, human physiology, and clinical nursing. I along with several colleagues in nursing and physics recently received a National Science Foundation grant to provide a computer linkage across the nursing student curriculum.
