October 26, 1945 - March 18, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wanda Baucom Lamm, who
left us peacefully on March 18th, 2025, at the age of 79. She was surrounded by
her family who are comforted knowing that she now rests with Jesus. Wanda was
born on October 26, 1945, in Wilson, NC to Daphne and Alton Baucom.
Throughout her life, Wanda was known for her kind, hardworking, and sometimes
silly nature. She touched the lives of many, offering wisdom, humor, and joy to
everyone she met. Wanda had a passion for music, which she enjoyed with her
family, and animals, especially her beloved pet bird, Perry. She also found
peace in yoga and cherished traveling with Doug through the Optimist Club. Her
love for her family and her unwavering faith brought comfort and joy to those
around her.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Doug, the love of her life.
Their marriage of 60 years served as an inspiring example of deep love and
partnership. She also leaves behind her children: Dr. Amy (Sonny) Draper, Alton
Lamm, and Melodie (James) Powell; her grandchildren: Mollie (Josh) Shaw, Alex
(Emily) Bass, Lillie Bass, Mollie and Megan Lamm, and Will, Lee, and Redden
Powell; her great-grandchildren: Lorelai Shaw and Hatteras Johnson; and her
sister, Sanda (Fred) Hight. She was preceded in death by her parents, and
siblings, Bonnie Driver and Dan Baucom.
The visitation will start at
1:30PM on Saturday, March 22nd at Joyner's Funeral Home. This will be followed
by the funeral service at 3:30 PM, and a graveside service at Maplewood will
take place afterward. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Children’s Hunger of
Wilson (CHEW) or Forest Hills Baptist Church.
The family would like to
express their heartfelt gratitude to friends, family, and neighbors for their
unwavering support during this time.
Wanda will be deeply missed, but her
memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
