Note: The lab schedule is subject to change.

Your laboratory grade counts twenty-five percent (25%) of your final course grade.  In general, a lab test will be given at the beginning of each lab on the preceding lab.  Each lab test will be worth 10 lab points and will consist of questions in different formats, depending on the material.  Eleven "lab tests" will be given, and the lowest score will be dropped - giving 100 lab points for those tests.  However, your lab grade for the last four labs will be based on your work in the lab and submitted lab report at the end of the lab, and that lab grade will count the same as one lab test.  Note that the supplemental reading assignment is due March 31st and is worth 25 lab points.  Your final lab grade will be a percentage score based on the total of 125 lab points, i.e., your lab grade will be (lab points earned)/125.  (Note that the supplemental reading assignment counts 25/125 = 20% of your lab grade.)

You may take an essay makeup test for any of the first eight lab tests you miss at the end of your supplemental reading assignment lab, i.e., March 31st when the class has finished with the supplemental reading oral presentations.  Makeup lab tests for the seven labs are available ONLY at this time, and no makeup test will be available for the last lab.  A person arriving late for lab has missed the lab test if the first lab test paper has been handed in already.
